Rappahannock County is a treasure trove of historic properties. Because the County is tucked in against the Blue Ridge Mountains, there are few grand old estates but there are numerous historic and fascinating old structures from the County Courthouse to restored old mills and cabins in the hollows. Sperryville and Washington have a high percentage of old structures and both are registered historic villages.
