Hidden Hill

Hidden Hill is tucked away on quiet Smith Heritage Lane in Rappahannock County, located about 10 miles from Sperryville and about 10 miles from Culpeper. The parcel features a rolling topography with a wonderful spot to build a small cottage or cabin. There is a stretch of lively stream that glides from the parcel’s ferny woods out into the sunshine of the open field. Further up the slope there are wild blueberries and lush stands of mountain laurel. It is a quick hop to Sperryville for wood fired pizza at RPK; grab a craft cocktail at Francis while you wait for your order. Another option is a leisurely dinner at the Thornton River Grille or Three Blacksmiths. Or stock up on gourmet goodies at the Corner Store and have a growler filled at one of the two breweries to enjoy on your porch while the sun goes down. There are also a pub, coffee shop, whiskey distillery, art galleries and a yoga studio/gym.

In the other direction, the Town of Culpeper features Davis Street in the charming old town with shops, restaurants, and a fantastic farmer’s market. Culpeper also has all of the shopping and services offered by a more populated town, including big box stores, dry cleaners, grocery stores and Culpeper Hospital.

For adventures farther afield, Rappahannock and surrounding counties offer endless recreational possibilities. Shenandoah National Park and Old Rag Mountain are nearby. The park is home to scenic Skyline Drive with its overlooks as well as many miles of trails. The area boasts wineries and breweries, great restaurants and cafes, antique stores, farms and orchards, and much more. Looking for cultural activities? Visit one of the many art galleries, attend a play or a concert at one of the theaters, or visit the Rappahannock Historical Society’s museum and follow the Civil War Trail.

Located under two hours from Washington, DC, and about an hour from Charlottesville, Hidden Hill is an easy drive for a weekend getaway. This ideal location also offers a full time resident easy access to these two metropolitan centers and all they have to offer.
