Prime Retail Space in Sperryville
Located across the street from the iconic Sperryville Corner Store and next to the renowned Hopkins Ordinary Bed & Breakfast + Ale Works, this is a premium retail spots in Rappahannock County. With two lots the property has always been a retail focal point for Sperryville. The old Sperryville Post Office was located here from the early 1950s until it moved further down Main Street in the 1970s. When you go in the old post office, you can still see the door with the mail slot and what used to be the main counter where you would catch up on the day’s events with the local postmaster. Next to the post office was a small service station. Later in its life the service station became a lunch counter that, according to many local residents, served the best sandwiches around. In the mid 1970s, a large metal frame building was built around the service station and this property and became the home of Sperryville Deal where its namesake, Lester Deal, sold a myriad of local fruits, vegetables and antiques.
The building features almost 4,000 feet of retail space and is already on the Sperryville Sewer system. With modifications, the property could make an excellent restaurant, gallery or shop.
The village of Sperryville has become the new, thriving heart of Rappahannock County. Recent years have seen the addition of a coffee shop, two tiny breweries, a wood-fired pizza kitchen and craft cocktail bar, an outdoor gear and lifestyle shop, Stonewall Abbey Wellness, and Three Blacksmiths. Three Blacksmiths, our newest restaurant, recently received a stellar review by The Washington Post’s food critic. Sperryville is also home to the Corner Store, a hair and nail salon, an art gallery, several shops, multiple restaurants, Copper Fox Distillery, and of course, a post office.
