A short path leads you from the trout pond to the sport fishing pond filled with bass. From the two lower ponds, the property gently winds through a mature forest up to the main cabin, the garage and the second home. An old logging road takes you further up the hillside to the woodland pond. Several hundred yards from the National Park Boundary, there is an almost constant flow of wildlife that stop for a drink as they wander down from the mountain to enjoy the lowlands. The remains of the logging road continue further up the hillside to a stately rock formation on a ridge that offers an expansive view across Old Hollow in the winter.
The main house, built in 1993, is a modern cabin with a wide open floor plan, plenty of light and a relaxed inviting feel. A wide front porch that looks out to the forest that surrounds the home is particularly resplendent as fall comes and the leaves turn a brilliant hue. From the front porch, you enter into the great room. This expansive room is warmed by a wood stove that is the focal point of the home. The floors are reclaimed antique heart pine. The great room flows seamlessly into the kitchen and dining areas. The kitchen is quite comfortable with a spacious island and plenty of space for cooking. The large dining area is perfect for large family gatherings. A three season sun room sits off of the kitchen/dining area. This is the perfect room to watch the local fauna while enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning or glass of wine in the evening.
A second bedroom with its own sitting room/office sits off of the living room. Originally, the sitting room was designed as a fourth bedroom and it could easily be converted back to its original design. Running the width of the entire home, the master bedroom takes up the entire western side of the home. The downstairs includes a large game room, a third bedroom, as well as plenty of storage.
Next to the main house is an A frame style two car garage with an attached run-in area for storing canoes, bass boats, ATVs or anything else you would want. The second floor of the garage is a finished shop area that makes an excellent wood shop, but could also be an office or studio.
Hidden by a large bank of trees, the 2 bedroom second home, built in 1980, sits on a small knoll higher up the hillside. This compact home could make an excellent rental or guest overflow.
