We could not be happier with our experience working with the Cheri Woodard Realty Team. The communication was fantastic, they were always one step ahead, responsive and found a great tenant. We could not ask for more.
Emily Harris came to Rappahannock County as a weekender in 2009 and quickly fell in love with everything the county has to offer. Prior to joining Cheri Woodard Realty, she worked in human resources and board governance in Washington DC, honing her customer service skills. Emily has experience working on a wide variety of projects in office organization, process-improvement, marketing and design, affording her a unique and valuable skill set for our agents and clients. In addition to her keeping the office running smoothly, she is also responsible for all advertising. She is involved with many community efforts with a focus on issues related to food, agriculture and the environment. When not working or volunteering, Emily enjoys hiking with her dog, Summer, listening to music, experimenting in the kitchen, and creating art in a variety of mediums.
I have always had deep love and reverence for plants and flowers. I love growing all sorts of herbs and flowers and have a happy strawberry patch. During winter my home turns into a jungle when all the tender plants come inside. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but my meyer lemon tree is top of the list-here's hoping the current crop of lemons ripen!
My dog Summer, a springer spaniel mix, is famous in Sperryville and all over Rappahannock! Everywhere we go people stop to say ‘hi’ to her. She knows where to find all the best treats. Summer comes to the office and loves meeting all the friends, customers and clients that stop in. She's also been to a few showings!
I am the unofficial baker of the group and often bring in freshly baked goods to share with everyone in the office. I love baking classics that honor my Swedish ancestry, but my greatest baking joy is when I tweak an old favorite into something fantastic! Sweet and savory, I like all types of baking and cooking, but chocolate is one of my basic food groups.

We had worked with Cheri Woodard Realty on the purchase of our current home and were very impressed with their service and attention to detail. On this purchase, we worked with Emily Harris. We can wholeheartedly say Emily was wonderful to work with and we unreservedly recommend her. This move was a big leap for us, and our process was warp speed. From the first viewing to closing took five and a half weeks. Emily drove this process on our behalf with impressive attention to detail, dispensing sage advice and moral support at every step. Emily is forthright and fun to work with. One of her most impressive qualities is how responsive she is to every text, email, and call, not just reactively but proactively keeping us ahead of the game and the competition, always with good grace. We felt we were in good hands and were glad it was Emily who handed us the keys to our dream home.
Our decision to sell our house came suddenly because my family and our biotech company required me to be in Frederick, Maryland, full-time. We have known Emily and Cheri since we moved to Rappahannock, and we knew that there was only one person and one real estate agency that we would trust to help us sell our house. Our personal connection with Emily made the process even easier. We wanted to sell our home fast and wanted it to be in the hands of someone who would love it, and Rappahannock, like we do. This was the fastest and easiest real estate transaction I have ever completed. When we surprised Emily by walking into the agency on a Saturday morning and telling her we needed to sell and move fast, she immediately started the ball rolling. I cannot recommend Emily enough! Emily, Adam, and the team at Cheri Woodard took care of everything while we were driving back and forth from Frederick to Rappahannock every couple of days!
Thank You, Emily!
