Tanya A. PaullJust wanted to say thank you for “everything!”. I’ve got to tell you Tanya made it so pleasant and as smooth as she possibly could. She is lovely! Well mannered, well spoken and right on top of things.
Tanya’s love for this beautiful region will quickly rub off on you. As a transplant from the “city,” Tanya has first-hand experience with the joys and compromises of deciding to move to a rural area. She can walk you through each step of the process and what to consider. She can also tell you the best places to buy local food, taste wine, or go on a great hike. If you are considering selling your country property, Tanya’s attention to detail, from market analysis to photography, will give your property the best possible exposure. Since receiving her license in 2014, Tanya has become one of the top real estate agents in Rappahannock County. She also works on Give Local Piedmont and sits on the Headwaters Foundation Board.
An added bonus to being a Realtor is that the flexible schedule allows time for my equestrian interests. I'm glad to be able to get out fox hunting with the Thornton Hill Hounds or just take a morning off to squeeze in a trail ride. Exploring the Piedmont and observing the changes from one season to the next is just that much better from horseback.
Besides being great country for riding, one of my favorite things about the area is the local food scene. We are spoiled for choices of farms where we can buy vegetables, fruit, eggs or meat directly from the farmer. Add to that many locally made things to eat or drink, several wineries, two breweries, a distillery, and even a craft cocktail bar, plus great restaurants, and you have local food heaven.
Before I escaped the "city" I was a stream ecologist for Fairfax County. I am at my happiest immersed in natural surroundings and with my hands in the dirt. Besides working in my large vegetable and flower gardens, I enjoy bird watching, observing insects and encouraging native plants. The Piedmont includes some of the most diverse habitats in North America so there is always something new and interesting to discover.

Tanya and her colleagues at Cheri Woodard Realty made the home buying process a breeze and a pleasure. They did the things you’d expect — advising on market conditions, pricing and negotiating strategy — but they also did so much more. They found us an architect and assembled for us a whole network of local contractors and workers. They even offered property management services after the sale closed. Tanya is accessible and has a deep knowledge of the area. We heartily recommend Tanya and the CWR team.
Tanya Paull was our Realtor as we undertook a long-distance search for a Virginia home to be near our adult children. Being out-of-state, Tanya guided us through the home-buying process with openness and integrity: representing us in negotiations, constructing the offer, and finally closing the deal. Her ability to move forward with evenness during the ups-and-downs of our search, her kind and speedy responses to our many questions, and her professional knowledge made the search and purchase processes successful and minimized the stress of downsizing and relocating. Thank you, Tanya!
